  1. yes definately

  2. Depends on the video. If its something mainstream and common, which is also available on DVD, then yes. They are surprisingly cheap. Your best bet might be a car boot sale or second hand store.

If it is a collectors item, for example a special edition with handbook, or something that has never been released in another format then you may have more success. Check the prices for the types of video you are going to sell, to find out if it is worth selling them.

If it is worth selling them then check which categories the ones that sell successfully are in. Also, make sure they have pictures, and if they are new then look at also listing them on eBay express. Finally, if you do have something worth selling promote it on sites related to that topic (e.g. motorsport forums for car videos). As the video market is shrinking you'd need to reach the widest audience possible to get the bids for a good price.

  3. Yes and no, if there recent realised that you could by on DVD then you will have trouble shifting them. But if there old classics, say like the transformers or the original care bears then they will be brought by collectors. Vintage 80s cartoons and kids shows will sell but others may not.

  4. Yup.

You're pretty much wasting your time selling them anywhere, with all the free sites on the net.

  5. DVDs sell for under a quid on ebay. Videos are larger, heavier and more expensive to post than DVDs. So if you give them away and charge postage only, they'll be about the same price as the cheap DVDs.

    Which would you buy?

  6. It depends on what the video is.

If it's something that is hard to get hold of on VHS and not available on DVD at all then there's more chance of it selling. I've also found that if the video is of an 'older' pop group then it may sell.

I've sold a Neil Diamond video on ebay recentely and an ABBA video and I think they sold because of the increased popularity in both these artists recentely.

  7. yes they sell for 50p at car boots..

  8. to be honest unless they are rare the answer is yes - you could try on Amazon but there again need to be something good - I gave most of mine away on freecycle or to charity shops

  9. no..that's what online selling is..you need to be patient..you'll never know..maybe one of your buyers is/are millionaire or billionares.
