Am I wearing the wrong bra size?

Hi, I'm 13 years old, and i think i'm wearing the wrong bra size. Until about 2 months ago, i've been wearing nothing but, sports bras, i like them better than thin straps but, they feel fine now. I wear a size 36 A ( US) but i've noticed that when i stretch it rides up and so does the back. Even when i adjust the straps it still doesn't fit or feel right. Also, my boob kind of falls out of the cup on the side and it sticks out A LOT! So, does this mean i might be wearing the wrong bra size? I asked my mom about it and she's just like your crazy!

Thanks! and be serious!

  1. The ladies at Dillards or Victoria's Secret can measure you (with a bra on, you don't have to be naked on top) and see if you have the right fit. They're trained to do so.

It sounds as if you might need to move up to a B cup. I had to do the same thing a few years ago after I changed birth control pills and all of a sudden my b***s got bigger. If you've had any sudden change in medication or you're hitting a growth spurt, that could be the reason for your sudden "overflow" so to speak.

Your bra should lay flat against your breastbone between your b***s, the cups shouldn't overflow and the back part should be a straight line, not ride up in an arc. Make sure the straps are adjusted so that they don't cut into your skin severely.

    I hope this helped!

  2. u might need a bigger size..

just go try a bunch on and see

    what size fits the best.

    good luck!

  3. yes u need some bigger bras.try 36B instead of A

  4. Yeah, it's very possible that you could be wearing the wrong size. It's common for women to be wearing the wrong size, actually.

I suggest going to Victorias Secret...they do measuring there. =)

  5. you might need a bigger size. Get fitted for a bra or just try on a few sizes and see what feels right.

  6. Right - a band riding up is a classic example of a band too big. So, try the next back size down. Remember that when you go down a band size, you need to go up a cup size. 36A and 34B are equal in cup volume, but 34B has a smaller band size. Try 34B.

Straps digging in or feeling weird are caused by wearing a bra too big in the band and too small in the cup. The band should provide about 80% of the support. If the band is too big, it can't give that support. And with a cup size too small, you're putting too much weight on your shoulders. This is probably why it's uncomfortable.

Further proof to back up the fact you're wearing a cup size too small is that you're falling out of the cups. Try a 34C.

Just because you've gone up one cup size and down a back size doesn't mean you've got the right size. Check the band: if you can pull it further than 5cm away from your body on the loosest hook, it's too big and you need to go down a band size.

Then check the cups. Look for spillage and wires digging in. In contrast, check for gaping or wrinkling of the fabric. For the former, go up a cup size, and for the latter go down one.

Don't go to VS - they're useless and will try to squeeze everyone into 32-36 A-D. I've heard Nordstrom are good - they do 30AA to 52JJ, so they have a much bigger selection.

This website should help you determine whether a bra fits:

  7. Yes, it can also be possible that you are ALSO wearing the wrong ribcage too. The best thing to do is to NOT measure. (It doesn't always work). When you go bra shopping test a bunch of different one's out. 34B. 34 C. (a 34 B is the same cupsize as a 36A) If you are a 36, then try a 36B, or nearly B. Whatever you feel that fits right. Madenform and vanityfair are great brands!

  8. i think that victorias secret does free sizing with purchase of a bra but it might be somewhere else.

you can also google the measurment methods.
