I really haven't eaten much fast food since 2001, and before that, as early as 1997, I also made a pledge, but back then it was harder to stick to ... Very much so, but it is a weird feeling because I feel kind of alone doing it... Am I so strange, eaing no fast food, and only the healthiest food I can find? I miss it, sometimes...

  1. I generally don't eat fast food. And i'm quite normal (although my wife might differ with her opinion of that )

sometimes i eat (v) burgers or (v) sausages at home but that if I'm on the go, outside or stood on the back of the boat.

you can't really eat "Basil and nutmeg crepe filled with butternut squash, hazelnuts and cheddar, served on red kale with a white wine sauce,  rosemary baked potatoes, steamed broccoli & rainbow carrots " while stood in a field with farmers, can you ?

Look at the queues in fast food places, would you really want to be like that ?

I can't actually remember the last time i went in a "chain" resturant or such like - probably 7-10 years ago.

As for fast food places - probably not since Hongkong in 1998 ( and i gave the food away  because i'd made a mistake and could smell the beef fat on the fries ). Before that.....Colmar or Strasburg....no idea what year that was 1990 ???

    Its not strange, no

  2. No I don't think it's weird at all. In fact I envy your self control. it's healthier, cheaper & more hygeinic to eat at home any way. But I'm sure it won't hurt to treat yourself to a healthy take out meal on special occasions. There are still many healthy take away options out there. Especially if it's veg*n. Avoid deep fried foods and go for a healthy & tasty salad sandwich. My fave take out is avocado, tomato, olive sandwich on toasted turkish bread. It's take out but it's still healthy. =)

  3. I'm not sure what you mean, because I go to the local Chinese restaurant and they can whip up a full course meal in 10 minutes fully vegan.  I guess 'fast' food is pre-prepared and ready 'now'.

No, I haven't been to a fast food joint, like McDonalds or whatever for... nearly 20 years... even if they have veggie burgers or whatever...

  4. The only fast food places I go to are Chipotle and the quickie salad places--High Noon and Chop't are the two main ones near my office.  So no, you aren't weird.

  5. No,your not weird.

I applaud you for your healthy lifestyle.

Actually i don't eat fast food either.

As a veggie its not easy to find, but I'm health conscious, and you can only be making your life longer by being healthy and trying your best to look after your body.

But treats can be important too, like i love the odd bar of chocolate.

But its all about moderation, and staying healthy.

You will have a healthy heart and body if you maintain your great food plan.

The harder things like pledges are to keep the more likely you are to break them,so be kind to yourself, and allow a few treats. It makes us feel good to have naughty foods at times. :)

  6. Super!!  I don't eat fast foods, and I'm neither vegetarian or vegan. The main point is price and the second is price.  Just think.... for the same amount you can make 3 times as many burgers, pizza's, toasted sandwiches.  You know what is in it, and can make them/it exactly to taste.

  7. fast food is a killer. i stopped eating it years ago. too many people eat that c**p and then wonder why there kids have all things wrong with them. make food at home its cheaper also. and if you like, pick up a copy of a movie called"fast food nation"  . it will answer your question too.

  8. no its not wierd at all. i dont go to them either. Not because of the prices that they charge, but i prefer cooking my own food and knowing whats in it. besides its healthier. I am a vegetarian so i dont like all that fast food lark. yuck.

  9. Work at one of the fast food chains and you will never eat at another fast food restaurant again! I also worked at a regular bistro/cafe restaurant, and now will never eat at a restaurant again! I make all my own food from organic produce and will never let another chef, restaurant owner, or even processed food from a company, put their "food" in my body!

Respecting one's body, and feeding it fuel that is the purest available should be normal.
