yea.. so i'm 14 and i'm starting HIGH school on sept.2nd which isnt exactly far away.&& I AM SCARED TO DEATH! Today was the orientation and i felt so lonely and small because i went alone. not alot of my friends are going to my high school.only 1 or 2.and i didnt see either of them there. I am sooo worried that i'm gonna totally mess up my high school life by doing something stupid.

the thing is that i'm not too good with meeting new ppl. its really hard for me. i know that the friends i have now used to be strangers to me but idk how they became my friends. we just talked and automatically clicked. but now i'm scared because i kinda have to start all over with. I'm juss reallly scared and worried.

I'm sorry if this was to long but i really needed to get it out.

THANX!!

  1. Well, I was in your position.

i, too, started high school, and not just that, a freshman and my first year in public school.

    I was super scared.

But what I did was just simply talk. Say hi to at least 1 person in each class and try to make a friend.

I met a friend in business computer and just by saying hi. We are now friends and talk a lot in our combined classes together.

Its not really that much to worry about.

    Its not that scary

Its just the fact of doing something stupid that makes it seem scary.

No, you're not worrying about it too much.

    Just nerves.

    Good luck!

*P.s. My 3rd day of high school was today. *

    hope i helped.

    :)

  2. i am the type of person to get excited about school, even starting a new school, i started gr 9 last year and im starting gr 10 in sept. dont worry about friends, im sure you'll make better ones anyways, just dont fall into the wrong crowd. watch your classes, if your smart and you want smart friends look for them in your classes, same if your punk rock or nerdy

high school is SOO much better, there is sooo much more freedom, i didnt find the work that much harder, and the load wasnt that bad but be prepared for anything , start with a fresh start, get organized, clean your room, get basic school supplies, go on the school website, get the map of the school research it in every way possible, that way, no surprises , no messups, i dont really remember much of my first day of high school, because i had a HUGE headache and the only thing i messed up was showing up late for one class, it was kinda embarrissing but the first day teachers let everything slide and i ended up getting highest average in that class, lol, anyways i will leave you with a quote, if you are worried about something but have no control over it, why bother worrying, but if you do have control over it, you shouldn't worry, you should do something about it - MLB Player

  3. Today was my first day of High School and I felt the same exact way. I was sooo nervous. But after the first few minutes, I knew that everyone was going through the same thing. On the first day of school, all you really do is go to each class and learn about the teachers and they do activities to help you make friends with other students. At lunch, get there kinda early and just look around and find the nicest looking person you can see, then go over and ask to sit with them. They will probably say yes. If they dont, just go to the next person. If they do say yes, ask them some questions such as, what middle school did you go to? Are you into music? if so, what are your favorite songs? favorite music artist/group? A couple more questions like that and you should be friends in no time!! Also, try to sit next to someone that is in one or more of your classes, that way, you can have a partner or something in that class if needed! Just remember, everyone is feeling the same way. Always be your self, and don't try so hard to be popular and stuff. Join a lot of clubs or after school activities. Oh, and if you get lost or need extra help ask a teacher or  your locker buddie (person next to you) for help. That should also make a new friend! I hope your first day goes well!

  4. Well, you've made some new friends! Now that wasn't so hard, was it? You just talked and automatically clicked! Some other students must have had it harder. Well, it helps to keep in mind that most other students are feeling the exact same way you are. Maybe they are too scared to make friends with you. So why don't you be the one to reach out to them? Get to know lots of people. Get to know your way around school. Get to know your teachers. And if things get tough, you can always get support from them. Take one day at a time and enjoy! Good luck!
