  1. Come to Ballydung!

We could do with some Aussie women here...........

Do ye look like the girls in Home and Away?

  2. be prepared to work for the minimum wage, which is about 8 euro an hour.   rental accommodation is expensive,  800/1000 per month for a 2 bed apartment.   drink is 5 euro a pop and smokes are 7.50 euro for 20.    Bring lots of money with you in case you don't find work immediately.  Enjoy the trip.

  3. hey i agree with the 1st answer but also smaller towns have cheaper accomidation so avoid dublin it costs so much there sligo is good u have seaside mountains shopping jobs accomidation is around 350 a mont cheaper if ur sharing with a few people and its easy to get to other places in ireland from here

  4. Hi just to warn u

Ireland is very expensive at the moment plus its in recession so finding work may be a little hard. But if you do still decide to come over you shud stay clear of dublin cuz the cost of living is CRAZY! However Galway is a great city,a real student town & everyone is so nice & its cheaper than Dublin.Rent is about 50/60 euro a week for a room in a town house....As for visas im not so sure-u shud maybe google-irish embassy but i wudn say it would be too hard to get one!

good luck with the travelling & i hope i was of some help :)

  5. Hi Julie,

I came to Ireland about 5 years ago, got stuck and am still here...

    Here are a few tipps:

You can find accomodation - whether you want to rent an apartment, a room , or buy - on two websites:

www.daft.ie and www.myhome2let.ie   I personally prefer daft, find it a lot better.

The job search here generally goes through job agencies. The great thing is that there are a few websites where agencies or employers directly advertise their open positions, and you can apply online.

    They are

    www.irishjobs.ie

    www.recruitireland.com

    www.monster.ie

www.jobs.ie (the top three are better then this one in terms of search options).

You can find a job online, and then find a place to live close by online as well.

If you want to come to dublin you will obviously have the moste choices (in all parts of Dublin, I'm in the North myself).

Cork would also provide a lot of  opportunities

How long are you planning to stay? depending on that, you will need bank accounts, social security numbers etc...
