  1. translator dictionaries are available all over the web.

    Turkey is fairly English friendly and having been there before I don't think you'll have any issues.

    Good luck

  2. Turkish is one of the more difficult languages for a native English speaker to learn; you would be better to invest a couple of dollars/pounds (whichever is appropriate) in a phrasebook from your local bookstore; this would also tell you how to pronounce the phrases.

  3. Look into "rosetta stone" and find out if they have that languange. Granted, you will have to waste money, unless you can find a free version somewhere. But, I hear rosetta stone is like the best program when it comes to learning new languages.

  4. I've just visited Turkey! They speak broken English, German and even broken Russian... Hm...

  5. Merhaba - Hello

    Selam/slm = Hi

    Ne yapiyorsun/napiyorsun = what are you up to?

    Nasilsin = how are you?

    Nasilsiniz = how are you in a polite form

    (Ben) Amerikanim = I'm American

    (Siz/Sen) Nerelisin(iz) = where are you from?

    Ellerin(iz)e saglik = showing appreciation for someone's cooking, literally means ''health to your hands''

    Kac yasindasin(iz)? = How old are you?

    Turkiyeyi begendim = I like Turkey/I think Turkey is a nice place.

    Bu kac? = How much for this? (prices)

    Pek begenmedim = I don't really like/enjoy it.
