  1. I think if you were worried about hurricanes you wouldn't plan your honeymoon in the hurricane season

  2. Well, it really depends where you go. But usually hurricane season is in August.

  3. Not very probable, more risky during late August and September. But news reporting should give you plenty of advance warning and there is plenty of public transportation that could take you well out of danger and its very economical.  Putting a mountain range between yourself and a hurricane will definitely dampen its power.

  4. I would worry more about the gangs that are starting to prey on American tourist.

  5. Where exactly are you going in Mexico?

There are two hurricane areas, one on the pacific side and one on the Caribbean side.  Depending on the weather patterns and the el nino/la nina phenomena, it can be a hit and miss type thing to try to predict a hurricane!

I would just go.  Seriously, hurricanes down here are not a big deal.  After a storm life just goes as normal.  Seriously.  I've only been inconvenienced about 3 times in the past 15 years.  Your resort has a contingency plan and will look after you well.  The only time its a big deal is when the hurricane is a category 5.  Then its a little more serious.  They are rare.
