  1. As far as I know the deal is very much in favor of India. Most of the people who opposes knows that (even LK Advani is in favor but playing politics now). The Left parties never brought progress in our country than opposing their opponents... and get votes in the next election. It was very easy for them to align common people against the deal. Because very deep inside every Indian doesn't like US (partly came from the ARROGANCE evolved from  keep hearing about becoming a super power).

US did more than 2000 nuclear tests to reach their technology to this level. who need that much trial again done in India? If we could get the technology right away.

The deal is just a passport to the nuclear energy. Our foreign policy will not be affected anyway. Left party doesn't have the right to show their patriotism, we all know their stand in 1962 India-china war.

Even they are playing with Muslim sentiments for political gain.. Its a shame to see this in this 21st century.

Come out and see how India is struggling for power. don't stick in to your own state..

I am forced to say this. I know the situation in our BARC very well. Our govt has spend lots of money for decades to develop the power from Thorium. Everything was a complete waste. Main reason is that no one does their job honestly. Or even if someone do work, they are not allowed to do so by superiors, that is the research environment in our national labs.

If this deal never happens, then I am not returning to India. There is no point in coming back then.

I am sure Chinese will learn to use English soon, then there won't be any choice to survive with call center jobs.

  2. Here's an article on the deal.  http://yaleglobal.yale.edu/display.artic...

As far as I can tell, the agreement deals mostly with cooperation in nuclear power generation.  If you put US India Nuclear Agreement in Google, you'll get a lot of hits, most of them discussing problems with the agreement.  You can also find the full text of the agreement.

  3. I liked what Pranab Mukherjee said. He said the deal is like a Passport into the Nuclear World; and one will only get a Visa if you have a Passport.

It is a strong point in your discussion.

The deal will mean more power for India. Probaly the neighbouring countries do not want India to do well and be better than them.

Go to ndtv.com for lots of info on both sides.
