  1. yeah thats pretty good....if u could get your time in 12.0 or under would be awesome!

    also...Mohammad Q....u r an idiot...thats not fat.

  2. Yes, your amazing compared to me...you put me to shame.

  3. Yeah you may get faster

  4. yes you are and you know you are you better work it for what its worth and i can run it a little faster then you i have gone to high school state compotion 4 times keep going you have a futer ahead of you

  5. welll im not a fast runner n i wouldnt call myself fit ... but i can run 100 metres in 13 seconds ...

  6. flexibility will certainly increase your speed (i suffer from lack of this), but you won't be an elite runner. 12.8 is certainly going to make you one of the faster runners, but don't expect to be the top running back in the league or something like that

  7. Yes you are definetly a fast runner and im sure that you would be able to run faster if your more flexible.

Put it this way...being more flexible won't make you run slower!

  8. Working on flexibility only has been shown to decrease power, strength and speed.  Several studies showed this in the 80's.  You will still have old school coaches that believe in the warmup jog followed by static stretching.  Active dynamic stretching is waaaay better.  This combines movement and stretching to get the muscles ready.

As far as speed is concerned, how many times are you going to run 100m on the football field.  This may sound flippent, but seriously if want to run the 100m in Track that is great, if you want to get faster in football you should be more concerned about shorter times.  Even the ever popular 40 yd is quite long compared to what you do on the field.  Think about the fastest players at the NFL combine are around 4.2 for the 40.  World class sprinters can run it under 4 seconds.

Football is about linear speed/power (explosive straight ahead movement) and multidirection speed/power (any direction but forward and change of direction).

2 ways to get faster.  One is to be more efficient in your movements and the other is to get more power.  I always say efficiency first because if you get more powerful and you have bad form you can get hurt.  Have someone with knowledge watch your form.  This may not be a football coach.  They typically know the X's and O's but have no idea of how the body works.

For power, you can work on explosive power.  Think of cleans and snatches.  These are great for your first step and for vertical jump.

    Good luck!

  9. At the age of 16 I was one of the fastest among my friends, I was able to consistently run the 150 meter in 17 seconds (11-12 seconds per 100 meters).  I played basketball.

But I imagine that football players lack flexibility cause of their huge and hard muscles, although they have more power to launch themselves with each step.  Judging from my peers when i was 14, I don't think you will match up to them the way you are right now.

Flexibility is only the first step in decreasing your sprint time.  Make sure you exercise the back of your legs (hamstring, thigh, calves) so that you are able to apply power in a stretched position, and this will maximize your sprint speed.

  10. Flexibility is the key, i run an average of 11.3 ,with a best of 11.18. I recently ran at the WIAA State Track Meet and placed 6th. Justin Austin from brown deer runs a 10.75 and won the 100m dash and he does lots of resistance training and can do the splits. He said it changed his time by 1/4 of second. He spends alot of time stretching. and etc...

  11. yea its a little above average speed i run a 12.3 100 im in 8th grade i play football what do u mean championship players? like the best in the state ? if so i dont know about that
