Am i a good clarinet player?

Question

Ive been playing clarinet (other instruments too) for one year and i have a Buffet C-13. Im first chair but over the summer i dont practice as much as i should. Will i get better once school starts? I also play alto sax,drums,baritone,mallet instuments,and a little bit of trumpet.Im in middle school.

nobody on here can just tell you if you're a good player.

especially if you've only had one year of experience.

you have an excellent clarinet. mine isn't nearly as good as yours, so you're lucky. :)

keepy up with your love for music. you can really go far. in college, MANY oppurtunities will pop up for you!

congrats on the first chair, and if you want to keep that first chair, you NEED to practice over the summer. not practicing is a sign of a BAD clarinet player, not a good. i don't care if you can play every single song known to man perfectly, if you don't practice, you aren't worth the time.

PRACTICE is your best friend. it's great that you are musically diverse, and can play many instruments, but it is best to focus on just one for now. and when you hit highschool, experiment with other instruments.

HI J... you rock with all of the musical instrument talent!!!  :)  Good for you for being so interested in your music education.     WoW... if you have a Buffet C-13,  you have one of the nicest Buffet advanced model clarinets.   If you are first chair now,  nothing will change with your band director until a few weeks have passed after school has started.  I would not worry too much about it... but J,  come on now....  it's summer.  Surely you have 20-30 minutes a day, at least, to keep up your skills and insure that no one catches up to you during the summer.     You are very, very lucky to be so talented of a musician at such a young age.  I suggest that you carve out a little slice of your day to practice that nice Buffet.   Can't hurt...right?

well, cant tell if you are a good clarinet player from a description because it really doesnt say anything. your very musical, congrats on learning all those instruments, but first chair doesnt mean anything. for all i know ( i'm not saying your are ) but you you could be first chair, because all the rest of the peeps suck.

you have the nicest clarinet out there. so stick with it, and practice that thing will you? i really shouldnt be talking, i havent touched my clarinets at all this summer, i've been learning other instruments too :)  but stay with band, dont be a loser and quit in high school. high school band only gets better, and join marching band. have fun!

i believe u r 2nd chair!!!!!! dont lie!!!!!!! yea u r good but still remeber about the dude that has been 1st chair all year!!!! remeber i know where u go to church!! lol!
