  1. kinda, but you might be able to d it if you try really hard.

  2. no, but you will have to work a lot harder then the other girls to get to their level. Most girls start very young. It isn't, as long as you are willing to work hard.

  3. If you were Chinese they would have already had you in the Olympics.

  4. I have known female gymnasts who were considered Olympic level candidates at age 12-13.  One of the girls was the best in our state but she grew 4 inches in a summer. She was heartbroken but went on to dance.   At 11 years of age and 5'3", I think it is reasonable to assume that you will grow several more inches.  One test would be compare your shoe size with female kids in the 10 to 12 age range.  Foot size is an excellent predictor of what our full size will be.  Of course, your parent height are very important in guessing or estimating how tall you will be in 4 years.  Don't mean to negative but I really think you are going to be too tall for gymnastics.  Only gymnasts and a race horse jockey seem to benefit from being small.  That is why there is so much talk about some the China girls being underage. They are small.  Which is good for gymnastics.  I would encourage you to look to other sports like swimming or ice skating to find an outlet for your athletic talent.  The time and effort is the same for all of these the young athletes.  Not too late, but too tall !!   Think how many people would like to be too tall!  I just do not think you are at full growth.  Of course, all I want you to do consider how tall you will be in 4 or 8 years.   I would rather tell you what I think is closer to the truth than see you disappointed when you are 14-15 years old.  Good luck and I hope find the a sport that fits you.

  5. of course not

  6. No! This might be corny but it's never to late to try something new! But understand that people in the olympics and others who make gymnastics look so effortless have a ton of experience and put many hours into a week.  Don't plan on being olympic ready over night, but have fun with whatever you try.  Be patient and give yourself a chance!

  7. No, its never too late.

  8. Go for it!!  You will know once you start practicing.

  9. Many of us anwsered this for you a couple of days ago. You said your mother will not listen to you and take you serious. Your Mother said that you are too old and to over weight.  It is never to late!   this is how I met my husband 37 yrs ago. His mother had a dance studio and also taught gymnastics. You are the right age.

If you are over weight that will come off as you learn the gymnastics. It takes years just to get the basics down. But if you dont start soon, the body will be unable to do the moves in gymnastics. Many start at an early age, mostly 5 or so. But you are not to old yet. Make the parents are unable to afford the lessons. Ask them why they dont want you to take them. Be grown up about it when you do. Dont raise your voice and try to show them you are serious and would like to try. Getting angry and raising your voice with them will only get you back the same. If you raise your voice to them, they will return the raised voice.

Just be respectful. At school ask the gym teacher you are interested in this and ask her to show you some basics, then practice what she showed you. You can start working on back bends and simple things on your own. Go to the library and look at books on the subject. Look on the web for info. You would be surprised what you can learn and practice on your own. If your parents sees you do cart wheels, bk.bends they may catch on that you are serious.

  10. no. but keep dreaming

  11. Usually training for Olympics begin in the US around age 10, but these gymnasts have been in gymnastics since they were even younger.

That said, it is NEVER too late to try to catch your dream.  Hard work and perseverance can pay off, so good luck to you.

  12. no of course not...i know a canadian olympic wrestler who didnt start his wrestling carrerr until 11th grade...

  13. Too late to possibly be an olympic gymnast, but not too late to start gymnastics for your own personal interest. Remember, the olympic gymnasts started gymnastics as little kids (4-5 yeas old), and have participated in countless state, national, and world championship events.

  14. no you can start it whenever you want to.

  15. It is never too late.
