Me too a HINDU, but thankfully my family doesn't believe on this absurd concept of mangalik. If we believe in super-power there should be no fear of death in the mind of groom, because life and death is decided by GOD only. You should not bother about the concept of MANGALIK and go ahead, surely you will get a good life partner and live long. All the best.
