  1. You have no alternative but to plonk your behind in leather seats.  As long as you avoid animal products wherever practicable, you're vegan.  But I doubt school bus seats are leather.  I imagine most school districts are going to go with the cheapest, nastiest material possible, and that's probably some crummy vinyl.

  2. As long as you're not consuming any animal by-products, you're vegan. By-products include dairy products, eggs, etc.

  3. You are a vegan unless you are eating animal.  By not eating the seats, you are still a vegan.  Don't worry about it so much.

  4. My parents have leather seats in their cars, and leather couches in the house, and I sit on them and still proudly call myself a vegan. Think about it, by you sitting on those seats, no animals are being harmed. If you bought leather seats, that would be different.

  5. If you have a viable alternative, then no, you aren't vegan. If it's your only option, then you really don't have any choice. Being vegan is about choices. If you don't have any choice than veganism doesn't apply.

So many wrong answers. Veganism is a lifestyle of avoiding animal related products, not just a diet.

  6. yes you are a vegan, it is not your fault the scools are heartless enough to plaster dead animals on thier school bus seats

  7. you didnt buy it and ur not doing anything to it its like asking if ur parents buy chicken and u have to put it in the fridge are u still a vegan so u are still a vegan

  8. You are confusing 'Vegans' with 'Vegan Activists'.

If you are vegan, you shun read meats, poultry, fish, eggs, dairy products, and other animal produced foods such as honey.

You basically eat plant foods Grains, Dried bean products, Fruits and Vegetables.

If you follow the above definition, you are a Vegan as originally intended.

Using leather, fur or other things are basically politically influences to make you feel compassion for the other living beings. It has nothing to do with the original intent.

The 'original intent' was based on what is good for a person's health, and not to save the rest of the animal world.

I am glad that you are a compassionate person. But don't feel guilty. You are a Vegan with the same health benefits whether you sat on a vinyl seat or a leather seat.

Be happy and smile, be proud. You are a Vegan!

  9. I really don't think school bus seats are leather... they are some strange composite of vinyl possibly coated with PVC...

    Here's a quote:

" Materials: All major school bus standard vinyls in both FMVSS 302 and fireblock materials."

So, barring any other issues...you are still a vegan

  10. uhmm no

  11. I don't think this is a serious question.....

  12. Unless you l**k the seats..no

  13. Sweetie, your carrying this to far. All cars, trucks, and buses are full of animal byproducts; even the roads they drive on have animal byproducts in them. It would be different if you bought a car with your own money and asked for leather seats.

  14. Is this question serious?

I don't think that it can be.

  15. As long as you are not consuming animal proteins and have stopped buying leather... I think you are OK to call yourself a Vegan.
