i sometimes say 'Alahamora' with out having any power over my words and things *magically* open, appear or randomly happen with out consent .. for example. the other day i was buyin a can of beans,( i do love my beans), i said alahamora while while i was waiting for the lift, and a lift *m@gIc@lLy* appearRed ---am i a witch?

Perhaps, even though you are consciously joking when you use the Harry Potter "spell", you really are subconsciously focusing intent on getting what you desire when you do so - in which case, you would be practicing a form of witchcraft.  Perhaps you just have this natural ability to be able to focus your energy toward your goals, even if you don't realize you're doing it.

But it would take much more than that to make you a witch.

Nope, But You most certainly have a wonderful power. You have a great control over the future or what happens later in life and i beleieve that if you continue to do these interesting things you can master it.

But one thing you must never do is tell someone oh i have powers. You dont want to atract attention at all. I am SO happy for you

Nothing happens without intent.

If you genuinely believe that you are able to do things like this, then your chances of success may be swayed in your favour. Part of being a witch is to read the signs, and make predictions, so if you saw the lift was on it's way, and predicted accurately how long it would take, then saying words at the right time - and producing an effect, is about as magical as the ancient maji turning day into night with a few words - timed just before an ecclipse.
