Am i able to get my money back for my plane ticket to oz??

i bought a ticket to oz to travel for the year leaving in november. but i am unable to make stupidly i did not take out insurance.is there anyway i can change the name on the ticket so someone else can go or get my money back??i booked it with trailfinder.

  1. You should be able to, just talk to the manager of your airport, dont worry, we have dont it before. Make sure you explain yourself.

Every airline has a slightly different policy, but general rule of thumb is that, if you bought a non-refundable ticket, you can get the total amount paid minus a fee AS A CREDIT.  Most US flag carriers charge $100 or $150 fee.  So if you paid $1000 for a ticket, you would get $850 credit toward a future flight.  There is usually an expiration of 12 months from the date of cancellation for these credits.  

    I am not aware of an airline that will allow you to change the name on the reservation.  However, you may be able to cancel and use the flight credit to purchase a ticket for someone else.  

    As I said, every airline is slightly different, so check the specific airline's policies on this.

  3. I dont believe that you can get your moneyback as it is your fault not the airlines, you should be able to change the name on the ticket easily enough, just ring the airline and tell them (there will be a small charge)
