Yes you can change back to older messenger..I'm still using version 7.0

Go to control panel>Add/remove programs>uninstall The version-8.1-after uninstalling go to start>search files and folders..type in yahoo messenger,.do a search

..delete everything that shows in search window..restart your system go to http://www.oldversion.com and download the version 7.0 or7.5

Yes you are.You can download older versions(Google for yahoo messenger 7)of the messenger and install it,by this way you can use the older versions and you cannot change back to previous version from current version.If you don't uninstall the current version you can use both the current and new version by installing the new version in a seperate directory.Click on the link to download it.
