Although no liquids over 3 ounces.

yes you can but they have a liquid limit so you can't soda and drinks

Check with Northwest. What most airline companies insist on is that you can't pack a lunch at home and take it on the plane because you can't take it through security., You might have an explosive in your sandwich....

Anyway, once you get through security there are usually food vendors who will sell you take-away food that you can take on the plane.
