i just graduated hs. its the summer before college and im taking advantage of it. im hardly ever home anymore and when i am its usually only to take a shower and leave. my mom told me to start paying her 20 a week to do my chores and im doing that... but aside from that she really doesnt say much about me staying out. i think my dad gets bothered cuz he never sees me anymore but he doesnt say much either. is this freedom hurting them??? i mean if they didnt want me staying out they would have said something... but am i hurting thier feelings?????

  1. Spend some time with them as well, like a day of the week or something. But if they don't say anything then you shouldn't feel guily. They are adults and I asume they would say something if they wouldn't be ok with your freedom

  2. I think you are!!!! You should start spendin alot more time with them, playin board games or somethin!!!! Do somthing with them!! Take THEM out sometime!!

  3. Yeah, it probably is hurting their feelings. Why don't you try spending sunday afternoons with them or something. Or just stop in and hang out with them.

You're not being a crappy daughter though! The fact that you're considering their feelings says a lot. Just ask them if they want to go out and do soemthing fun before you leave.

It will probably mean a lot to them.

  4. No your not being a crappy daughter.

Im sure they're hurt because They know they are not gnna be able to see you as much.

They are lettin you do what you want only because your an adult now && have to learn on your own.

Just make a little bit of time for them

  5. I wouldn't say you're a crappy daughter. If you really want to know how they feel you should ask them. Maybe you guys could make set plans every week, like dinner every saturday. Or every other week. That way you still have time with them, but still have freedom.

  6. You could be hurting their feelings, but i think that they just realize that you are an adult and not a child, and that they are accepting your decisions, and not making a fuss over them.

  7. you should make a time and day to spend time with them, then they will know u love them

  8. I think it is fine that you have the freedom that you have, but you should plan some time to spend with your family to. Hope this helps.

  9. I would say yes. Make at least a night or two at home with them. If you are going away soon you will have all the time apart from them all you want! They just sond like they miss you is all. Even be home to have dinner or dessert with them, even catch a movie! I am sure it would mean a lot :)

  10. You have rights to have some freedom before going to college and you shouldn't feel bad.  But, have you considered that your parents might want to spend time with as well?  They may feel that because you are adult they shouldn't be haggling you about anything.  As for the chores, maybe you should show some responsibility and do them.  Your mother might be feeling like your maid and that is another reason why she may feel a little upset.  You can have freedom, but another responsibility of an adult to get things done that need to be done and then have fun.  Good Luck.

  11. Take them out to eat hun, and just spend time so they know you didnt forget them. They love you and wouldnt want to ruin your summer before high school. Just show them they raised a thoughtful daughter.

  12. you should talk about this to THEM..you don't always have to be at their side, or away..try to balance it..i'm sure it wouldn't hurt you to spend time with them instead of something like the comp...like instead of posting this question..you could've played a board game with them:)...just little things<33

  13. First off congratulations on finishing hs! you could be hurting their feeling but they should say something. you may want to ask them. but you arent being a really crappy daughter. try to spend some time a week at home if you think its bothering them.
