okay so im 18 and the youngest of my siblings and i feel like a total brat when i say this but i really want my parents to buy me a car!! my parents gave my brother 3 cars all of which he destroyed, and bought a car for my sister as well, they were nothing fancy, but at least they were something!! i was the only person in my family to purchase a car with my own money, but my car needs a new transmission and the cost of that almost exceedes the value of the car so i want to do a trade in and i want my parents to chip in!!! im the only one out of my siblings that work and go to school so i really need it, but every time i ask my parents they tell me theres not enough money even through my brother just went on a trip to russia and my sister is also taking a trip to philidelphia both paid for by my parents, and my dad just bought his seconde plane, i just want a car that will shift!! am i being a spoiled brat or am i justified in getting mad?

  1. Although it sounds like they are spoiling your siblings I would not press the issue any more.  After all, you are now an adult and you can't use this same complaint with them when you are 40 and your car then breaks down and you can't afford parts or a new one.

This is one of those lessons where you realize life is unfair sometimes and the best thing you can do is choke down this saltwater until you make some fresh on your own.  Good luck but you're gonna have to fend for yourself here.

  2. Your dad got a 2nd plane? Wow. Well it does seem they could afford one for you maybe, but just like that stupid saying goes 'life isn't fair'.

I can see why you'd be mad that your siblings got the easy way and you're the one stuck having it the harder way. If you really want your parents to buy stuff for you, you'll need to show them you're more responsible than your siblings and that you won't **** up a car like he did when he was given it for free.

Basically show them you will treat stuff you're given more respectfully and carefully. otherwise if they don't change their mind, you will learn what lots of other kids learn-that they have to work for something that you truely want.

  3. Ur justified

  4. You're justified.

  5. If you are telling the whole truth. Without leaving anything out yes you are justified.

Im not saying you are doing anything wrong. Its just I have never met a 18year old that is completly responsable. Look at your part. If you are taking responsability for yourself & treeting those around you with respect. Then you are completly justified.

Sadly there is usually a prefrence towards children. it dosent matter how hard a parent trys to treet there children the same.  We are all human & we tend to treet are children prefrably.  When we have more in common with one  than the other.

  6. Well if all that is true, it sounds like you have a justified complaint. If you are working and going to school, maybe they could go 1/2 with you on a better car.
