Am i being hacked?!?

im having this weird problem i have phone service from vonage and internet from optimum online. i have my ethernet wire going from the interent modem to my router and from there i have a wire going from the router to the voip box from vonage and a another going from the same voip box to my computer. now whenever someone calls it starts to act weird my phone wont work and it'll say network cable unplugged when it isnt! and my internet modem's cable light goes off too...is it something im doing wrong or is it something else?

Chances are, there is something wrong with Optimum...

I would start trouble shooting with them first.  Try taking the phone out of the equation.  Do you have ANY issues surfing the web or downloading large files?  Optimum is solid, then put the phone back into the equation and if Optimum wont help you, use Vonage's tech support.

How long has this been doing it?

Does it do it EVERYtime?
