Am i crazy??????????

i have a really serious problem with counting everything. i count the corners on the T.V and how many corners are in a room. when i read i count how many words there are. when i'm driving i count the letters and corners on the signs. i have had this problem for about a year and a half now so it isn't no temporary thing. i have asked some people about it and they say it is a stress disorder. Can i have stress for a year and a half straight? what do you think? don't tell me to go to a doctor because all they are going to tell me is i am crazy and give me pills. is there any way to stop this! i can't stop!

It's called OCD,Obsession Compulsive Disorder.Relax,you're not crazy.I do the same thing.A lot of people have OCD,but there is different types of OCD though.Repetitive rituals,Checking and doing things over and over,Counting,Bad thoughts,and Having to have things and objects in order.You have the one with the counting.You can also research it.Relax,it's okay.But I think that maybe you should consider going to the doctor.At least,think about it.If you don't want to go to the doctor,at least pray to GOD about this and ask Him to help you quit doing this.GOD can solve anything in your life.I hope that I helped you in some way or another.I think you have OCD.I think I have OCD.Relax.GOD BLESS you!

  6. it seems that u r bored ... and ur trying to get out of the routine by doing that ... try a "effort punish threatment"

    like ... "if i count something in my way to work ill do 50 push ups" or "if i count the words of the news paper instead of READING the newspaper ... ill read the ENTRIRE news paper ... including advisory" that will help to unbind ur mind of that .... because thats just a habit ... not crazyness

  8. Hi, it may be a stress disorder. If you do not want to go to the doctor, then you can go to a psychologist and they will not give you pills. They will try something like cognitive behavioural therapy with you. it is basically talk therapy.
