  1. Not if you offset the low mileage of the Jeep.  Considering taking the bus, bicycling, riding a scooter or motorcycle to commute and then the fun driving you do in your Jeep won't pinch as much.

Seriously if you are taking a scooter to work that gets 120mpg, then who cares if you take your Wrongler to the desert?  Your overall expenditure isn't gonna be that much.

Maybe you could get a used XJ Cherokee and with the cash you save you can spend a little more on gas and still have an extremely capable off-road vehicle.  My XJ got between 15mpg and 27mpg and averaged17-22 on a daily basis.

    Good luck.

  2. It depends on if you can afford to fuel your vehicle. Due to the economy we don't know what the future is going to be like. Also I don't know how much you travel, but if you drive a lot consider if the gas prices go up and even higher than before. If you can afford it, then no problem, but if you cannot then I would get a fuel efficient vehicle.

  3. lol...YES!

Well, I'm saying yes, but does it use a lot of gas?  We have an Excursion, $80.00 a tank.  When I was working I used a tank a week.

I wouldn't get anything unless it got me at least 30mpg.

  4. Nothing wrong about the thinking...you would be crazay if you picked one out on the floor and went into the finance dept. ready to buy.

  5. Yes....but at least you are asking. I wish they would have asked about it twenty years ago.

  6. Even if you can afford the payments, would you really want to spend $60 - $70 every week in gas?

  7. NO!  JEEPS ROCK!

You will have so much fun in that things especially if you go off- road or toppless!

  8. well put it this way. people say that the caravan/t&c gets good gas mileage. well... the jeep has the same engine. (3.8L) so i dont get it. is it just cuz ones a van and the other is a suv. they have to weigh close to the same.

  9. not if thats what you want or if your into to offroading

  10. It depends on whether you can afford the gas it uses plus payments, insurance. If you know you can afford it, go for it. Otherwise go for a vehicle that can save you money in the long run.

  11. Depends if you can afford it. Do you make an *** load of money? Then go ahead if you have no concerns for the environment. If not, I wouldn't do it. I had a truck (my BABY!!!) which I recently traded for a fuel efficient car, even though the payments on the car were more. Why? Because while I was paying about $350 a month on truck payments (the car is about $450)... the gas was AT LEAST $800 a month (and that is just driving around the city going to work and running errands). A Jeep will not be any better on gas than a truck (my brother has a Jeep). Comparitively, I only spend about $300 in gas on my new car. Personally, I think it would be dumb, but that really depends on how much you want a Jeep and how much you can afford for gas.

  12. not too crazy, my mom has a hummer H2, so a jeep is a little better than that gas guzzler she has lol

  13. Yes you are. On top of the prices, think of what you're doing to the environment. Considering that if anything happens in 2012, it'll be everyone having to pay for all the pollution (think of it, with all it's been building up it can't be too long until everyone seriously regrets it for one reason or another), you won't want to contribute to that pollution.
