  1. you can lose some vitamins but there is a very large plus side helping animals in your own way all you do its not eat meat and less meats from poor inocent animals go on the market.

  2. There are many great vegetarian and vegan recipes available to you.

You can get the Moosewood Restaurant cookbook which is a great place to start. Here's a link to their web site: http://www.moosewoodrestaurant.com/recip...

  3. You can also try http://www.chooseveg.com/ for some wonderful vegan recipes (videos included).

  4. You won't lack any vitamins--there's nothing that's in meat that you cannot get in plant foods, except for cholesterol.  You certainly won't lack protein--unless you starve yourself or live on junk food, it's impossible to develop a protein deficiency.  In fact, too much protein causes you to lose calcium.   Check out www.vrg.org for nutritional information.  And for wonderful recipes, check out www.vegweb.com.

As for taking vitamins, that's not a bad idea.  I take a multivitamin daily just to be on the safe side.
