I am only 21 have no children but need to move out. I only work part time so i can't afford to move if i don't get some help. I know you can only get working tax credits if you 25+ or have a child, so what can i do? I live in the UK. Thanks for your help.

  1. Why can't you work full time?

  2. if you work less than 16hours a week, you can apply for Job Seekers allowance, also if you need help with your rent you can apply for housing and council tax benefit, but these cant be applied for until you have a tenancy agreement, hope that helps you

  3. why dont you get another part-time job or ask if you can go full time?

trust me i moved out when i was 22. i was skint for ages i got depressed and lost my job when sales went down.

unless you have some savings dont bother

you need to be working less than 16 hours a week to get any benefits

and then you have to fill in forms every week at the job centre and you dont get that much depending on how much you earn

you can earn something like £5 anything else and they take it off your benefits so its not worth it. plus you wont get much off housing and council tax.

you will have no money at all coz it will all go on bills

  4. go and citizens advice they will help you..... also get a letter that you are being avicted

  5. Why do you think you should be entitled to taxpayer's money? Why can't you get a full-time job, or a second part-time job, and pay your own way?

  6. I think you could work full time at your young age.

If there is a medical reason why you can't then I apologise. You don't make it clear why you can't work full time.

The only thing I suggest is that you do what most single 21 year old people do. Work and save up to move out.

Or work and move back with your parents until you can save up to move out again.

  7. Here's an idea, WORK FULL TIME

  8. you can register yourself with the council, if you have a letter from the people you live with stating that you are to be evicted then you would get high priority, they may be able to offer you a BnB or hostel to start off with or you may get lucky and be given a bedsit or 1 bedroom flat.

My partner and i and our daughter all share a room at my mothers, we work nearly 100 hours a week between us but have been turned down on private renting and have been waiting for a council house for 3 years.

Its not just single people that suffer you see.
