  1. That is only $3 per hour so it sounds a bit low.  Is it only one child?  Is the child old enough that you do not really do anything except make sure they remain alive & possibly entertained?

If it is a smaller child, you could either say your rates are going up to [whatever] per hour knowing there is a chance they might replace you OR find another gig and state your rate ahead of time.

  2. Asking never hurts, say I need more money, but dont go overboard, dont say I want $30 a day go for like $20. Or find rich people.

  3. HI,

I think you could should get paid more.  I would pay a 12 yr. old "mothers helper" even more then that.  Depending on your age and experiance I would say the range should be between $5 (for a 12 year old and $17 for someone with a degree in Child development).

I would talk to them...I bet they have no clue that that is closer to the rate.

  4. just ask them

and if they dont say yes deal with it

  5. You could say privately to the people that you've been working really hard, and that you don't think the amount you're being given represents the time and effort you have been committing to your job. Then, kindly ask if a raise could be negotiated.

  6. i thing they pay u really good because normally people charge 10 dollars a day  and your getting paid 15 a day and you only babysit for 5 hours if u get bored just make him or her watch tv

    good luck

  7. when i babysit i get $ 10 and hour

  8. Yeah a bit just ask them to give you a little raise. :)

  9. ask them nicely...for like $20 for an hour because u feel that you deserve more. if they tend to disagree, ask them what u can do to earn more or if they will pay u more in the future. after they give u $20...wait a while and then ask for $25.

  10. You should be making atleast minimum wage. The cheapest I'v seen is $7 per hour per child.

  11. i would say instead of $15 ($3 per hour for 5 hours) ask for $20 ($4 per hour for 5 hours) or maybe $25 ($5 per hour for 5 hours).

    SO ASK!!!!!!!!!!

  12. getting riped off, yeah u r !!!
