Am i going to die?? please answer!! i went up into my unfinished attic and got a breath of fiberglass..?

i went up there and got a couple breathes of fiberglass..i started coughing the next day now im coughing more i heard it goes to you lungs makes it sick the it lets water in your lungs and you drown in you lungs kinda..please tell me im 13 and really dont wanna die..p.s i didnt come in phisical contact with it

  2. No, you won't die from being in the attic with fiberglass insulation. Obviously, if the stuff was that dangerous it would not be practcal to use it in homes, and all the house builders would die after the first job. I sold fiberglass insulation in rolls for over 20 years, loading and unloading it in trucks every day, and I'm still okay. You will be okay, too.

You will be absolutely fine.  I used to insulate houses for a living and have breathed in my share of fiberglass....trust me.  I'm sure long term and repeated exposure to breathing it in may cause some concern, but the small amount you experienced is fine.  Asbestos is the material you want to stay away from and I'm sure you were not exposed to that.  Take a deep breath, calm down, and have yourself a sigh of relief.

  5. Well you can always go to the doctor to be sure, but you'll probably be ok.
