If you receive SSDI (Social Security Disability Income), you may be eligible to receive an economic stimulus check. If you receive only SSI (Supplemental Security Income), you will not be eligible.

Your SSDI income must have been at least $3000 in 2007.

HOWEVER - and this is very important - you MUST file a 2007 tax return in order to receive an economic stimulus check. This is true even if you would otherwise not be required to file a return. You must fill out an IRS Form 1040A (a 1040EZ form won't work), and you MUST write ECONOMIC STIMULUS PACKAGE across the top of the form.

On Line 14, enter the total amount of SSDI (disability) that you earned in 2007. You'll know how much SSDI you received last year because that amount is indicated on the 1099-SSA form that you received in the mail this year. If you didn't save that, shame on you!

You MUST file your return by October 15th to be eligible to receive a stimulus check.

REMEMBER: You MUST file a 1040A EVEN IF YOU DO NOT OTHERWISE NEED TO FILE A TAX RETURN.

If you don't file a return, you will not receive a stimulus check, even if you would otherwise qualify.

    Simple enough? Good luck!
