im only a sophomore in high school. i was on vacation when one of my friends texted me asking for my neighbors garage code. my neighbors were on vacation too. normally when they want that garage code they're only looking to borrow his hockey net which my neighbor doesn't really care about. the next day i found out that they started a party there with around 30 people. my neighbors are still waiting on a full police report, but for what i did, would i be serving jailtime, and if so, would it be as much as my friends are serving since i wasn't at the party?

  1. No - you were under the impression something else would take place. Plus, your neighbor gave you the garage code. You assumed something else would be taking place.

  2. If you get caught and they rat you out, then you will get screwed. But you prob won't go to jail in this case.

  3. no ,

You did give them your neighbors garage code ,but you were ignorant on what was going on .

it wouldn't be as much as your friends are serving , no you won't .

  4. IF you were not personally there to enter the garage door code, then you probably cannot be held liable in this case. It would fall on the homeowners for being careless in letting you know the number. Even if you did personally enter the code it would depend on if the homeowner decides to press charges and what kind of acts you are charged with. Even if that happens, depending on your background and the severity of the incident, you'll probably walk away with community service, which really isn't so bad.
