Am i good?(10pts.)?

Question

hi ! I am really interested in acting. It has almost become my life! I have takin dance for 7 years (tap,ballet,jazz,modern) and i am currently taking voice lessons. i have takin two acting classes and taking two more over the summer and another in the fall that continues through spring. Over all i was told i have alot potential ..... it is weird but wether its a small skit or a big production, i feel like something clicks inside of me and i turn into the person im acting like. i have been in 5 stge productions. I am only 14 and I am planning to have alot of training a head of me. thanks! do u think im on the right road?

That something clicking inside you even in skits is the real important ingredient.  You know how competitive the field and is and you are already getting experience.  Plan on college, where you will learn much and gain contacts; and you can have a teaching job after a career if it works out that way.

You sound just like me! As far as I can tell, this is the right road to be on- get as much training and experience you can, and have a blast while doing it!

It sounds like you have potential and you are on the right track, but you have to face the fact that there are a lot of other people just like you who are trying to “break into the business”.

From what you have posted on here it sounds like you have good basic training (like dance and voice lessons) and it is good that you are taking acting classes and are in performances--keep all of those things up because they will look good on your resume and give you great training.

If you want to take it to the next level try getting an agent. (You will need a professional 8x10 headshot and resume) You can check out www.sag.com for a list of local talent agencies (click on branches and then click on your branch-wherever you live-and then click local resources). Make sure that whatever you do you do not pay an agent up front or it is a scam. Usually you pay them 10-15% of what you make.

Most of all, just have fun going to auditions and acting because the reality is that you wont get most of the jobs you audition for, and it is the experience that counts.
