Am i headed in the right direction?

Question

Im taking classes on becoming a mechanical engineer. I want to evuentally work on car engines and invent new ones.

not become an auto mechanic though

It depends on what courses you are taking.

To be any kind of inventor, you sure can use all of the physics,chemistry, math and thermodynamic courses you can get.

If that's what you want to do, then yes, you are headed in the right direction.  Would you be embarrassed to be an auto mechanic?  There's nothing wrong with that either..

There is currently a shortage o engineers so you shouldn't have to worry about a job
