  1. There are bigger problems in each one's life, but this one is big enough for your coach.

Try find an excuse for yourself, or tell coach the true story. Tell him that volleyball is part of your life now. If you are so serious posting such a question, I believe you will be a serious player down the road.

I won't believe that he will kick you off immediately, but you will have to work much harder to earn his trust, which should not be too difficult for you.

  2. What kind of teammate are you? I'd be pissed if my teammate decide to bail out "just because". Your coach should keep you from playing one game and make you run laps and do sprints for the entire practice. Man I'd be pissed if I was on your team. The other players count on everyone as a whole unit to win and if one of you guys is slacking then the whole team suffers! Get your act in gear and let your team know you are in it for real or you need to quit and let them down now instead of the end of the season when they will need you most!

  3. I think you're coach would be some-what upset about it, but talk to him before practice and explain that you might have had a lapse in memory...

  4. Is this your first no-show?  If it is your first, I wouldn't expect him to kick you off the team.  You probably will get some sort of disciplinary action though.

Coaches hate when there are no-shows.  Coaches make practice plans with the amount of girls they "know" are showing up.  When a player does a no-show, the practice plan is messed up.

Don't expect the coach to dismiss you, but do expect a scolding.

  5. Why did you miss it?  Are you sorry that you did?  Explain to the coach why you missed it.  It's not fair to the others who showed up and you just "missed it."  Volleyball is a lot of hard work so be prepared to sacrifice some time for it.  Are you willing to do that?

You may get yelled at, dismissed or just punished for missing.  It depends on the coach.  If you want another chance, let your coach (and team mates) know you're sorry.
