Am i interpreting this quote right?

"Do your best forget the rest"

In order to accomplish and succeed in the things you want to do forget about everyone else and focus on your goal? Am i interpreting it wrong?

  1. Yes, that's a good interpretation of the quote.  'The rest' would also mean anything else that is not your best nor your goal.

    So you could say:

    Do as well as you can and don't be thinking about anyone or anything else apart from accomplishing your goal.


  2. it means that do the best you possibly can at everything and dont let anybody get in the way. forget all the unimportant stuff and keep focused on your goal.

  3. thats how i interpreted it. but i guess you could have more than one meaning depending on the perspective.

  4. I guess quotes can be interpreted in different ways.  So your interpretation is acceptable.  In my opinion, the quote can be translated as:  Concentrate solely on your goal and put on it your best effort.
