Hi, im 16, 17 soon and ive been really into practicing driving and cars lately since im so anxious to get my own car and start driving , since ive had a chance to drive a few cars i know what im looking for in a way.

I would really appreciate Power Steering

Not a must but would like to have a 4 door car

Obviously i want a small cheapish car so insurance isnt sky high.

Need it in Silver or Black

With these main points in mind i was hoping for a nice little silver fiesta, but im unsure if you can power steering in the older fiesta's?

My question is, am i looking for the right car or is this not what i should be asking for in a first car?

  1. You're looking for the right car indeed. My only advice is don't pick a car because of its name. For example, BMW and Mercedes Benz. You can get a Toyota Supra with everything a BMW or Benz has for even cheaper. Only thing different is luxury.

  2. http://search.autotrader.ie/www/cars_sea...

click on this and have a look i am presuming your in england other wise just change the search

and your first car is always important to have what you would like and a fiesta would be good price to buy one and good insurance

my first car was a light blue fiesta !!! all of 12 yrs ago it was a right little dinger !

  3. I have a 4 door Fiesta with power steering and electric windows.  Imobiliser.  On a R.  49,000 on the clock.  ÃƒÂ‚£300.

Never get a black car, they only look good for 5 minutes.  They show every mark and you have to be meticulous when you polish them as they also show every streak.  Stick with silver.  Good luck with your purchase.  What ever you buy, don't buy something with high milage.

  4. You want to have 4 doors and 4 cylinders because that will keep your insurance rates the cheapest.

  5. Don't bother witha Fiesta: Get a better equipped, better built & more reliable Japanese car instead - you won't regret it.

  6. Peugeot 306 turbo diesel very good on fuel quick and very cheap on insurance pick one up for £500

  7. Civic, Corolla, Sentra others. Full list here:

  8. If you like to polish and wax cars, never, never get a black car.

Silver looks clean almost all the time, whereas a black car only looks good in the shade.

  9. Actually I don't know.

  10. Money will dictate the model Fiesta you can buy but i'd say at a guess, yes this is ideal for a first car.

If you go for a 96 > 99 Model, then the 1.25 LX model is cheap to run, Insure, Tax, Has Power Steering and comes with electric mirrors. I think 98/99 models had electric windows. Basically, keep the spec list down to keep the insurance down.

Plenty of Fiesta's are silver as they flooded the market for hire vehicles. Silver was the choice as they are uniform and look smart (even with a scratch or two). I'll hesitate depending on where you are in the country? You can get a 1.25 LX on a 96/N reg, 85k miles in silver for £695 (north UK) or £825 (Southern UK). If you want a later plate 1.25 LX from 99/T with 60k miles in silver for £1295 (north UK) or £1395 (Southern UK).

Look in the local paper/free ad's for these cars. Also look on http://www.Gumtree.co.uk or even on ebay if you are confident? Good Luck.

  11. My first car was a ford fiesta zetec, x reg (reg'd in 2000 ir 01 i think, not 100% sure)

it cost me £2500 and i had it insured for just under £700 for the year (although this was only 3rd party)

personally i think fiesta's are great little cars and even better for your first car. oh and yes mine had power steering.

happy car shopping, hope you get the fiesta you want :-) x*x
