  1. perhaps your husband would be better helping his daughter with her homework, perhaps he needs to think about his behaviour towards her mum and think whether or not that could be affecting her behaviour. you're not neglecting your child at all, being a single parent is hard work and you need support not hassle. good luck and keep up the good work.

  2. you need to be able to prove that you sit with her the whole time, keep track of her homework and make sure she does it.  tell the judge your plan for how to improve the homework situation.  you have to be involved in supervising and making sure she completes the homework correctly

  3. Your priority when you get home it to make sure that she has completed her homework and that she understands it.  What are you doing to help?

What is the ex doing to help?

She will continue to be behind if you do not become active in her education.  Single mom or not, you have to step up.

  4. She's six? She should not have constant homework. Tell the school and the court to f&ck off. That's insanity. As long as her academic progress for first grade was fine, who cares if a kid does her homework in first grade?

Homework is the child's responsibility. Are you going to go to college with her, too, and do her homework there? No time like early on to make your daughter accountable for her homework instead of you.

  5. Well you kind of are... I mean help her out and stay with her when she needs it...

  6. Tell the judge you neglected your daughter when she needed you, and that you are neglecting her now because you neglected her earlier.

As her parent, you are supposed to be there to help her. Number one, you should have been helping her with her homework, or taken an interest, since her first day of preschool. Two, you should be more aware of her progress in school. You should attend parent-teacher conferences, and learn what you can do to help your daughter succeed in school.

You're daughter wouldn't have had as much difficulty if only you had not neglected your responsibility to her. Regardless of her academics, you are supposed to keep an interest in everything she is doing. Sorry to be so harsh, but read the papers and see how many kids in middle school and high school are having difficulty because they never got the support in elementary school they needed.

    Cheers!
