Generally food cravings are a later symptom in pregnancy and you'd have a bulging belly well before that symptom came into play.  

If your period is due, chances are you're just having those normal PMS cravings that some women are subject to.

If your period is late; however, it's a good idea to get a home pregnancy test.

It is common for women and, in fact, even some men to have sudden cravings. It doesn't necessarily mean your pregnant. You could be lacking vitamins or minerals, or it may just be hormonal. Magnesium is usually lacking in a womans diet triggering cravings for chocolate. Your cravings are your body's way of telling you what you need that isn't there. Which in turn is why pregnant women have so many or odd cravings. More vitamins and minerals are essential to a growing fetus. If you believe you are pg the most effective way is to have a blood test it will tell you with in 3 days of conception versus a pg test which could be taken improperly, be faulty, or take as long as 2 wks after your reg period.
