Question:

Am i really underweight and unhealthy??

im 13 only 78 pounds and 5'1" i eat a lot and no do not have an eating disorder. my dad was really thin so that might be why im so thin. it really bugs me being so thin im always being asked if i eat and that im so thing and small. is thier anyway i can gasin weight??

  1. You're probably fine as long as you have a balanced diet and are getting plenty of exercise. If it really bothers you that much though, then you can go see a doctor or nutritionist and they'd probably be able to get you to a healthy weight. :)


  2. Honestly, yes. You are pretty underweight.

    The first thing I think you should do is go to your doctor to make sure there are no underlying problems that's causing you to be so thin.

    (( Although, you're probably right - it's probably genetics. ))

    Then ask your doctor for recommendations on how to gain weight. The healthiest way is to gain muscle mass.

  4. That is ok. If your dad was this small you have nothing to worry about. Do not listen to any body else if they make fun of you and who cares anyway. Dont wory, If you still are worried next time you go to have a cheackup talk to your doctor about it.

  5. You would be classified as an ectomorph. I too am an ectomorph, I'm 5'11" and 138 pounds so I know how it feels.

    You are in fact healthy since you said you didn't have any eating problems.

    There is however a way to gain weight. It's not easy but if you would like to try it out:

    You should eat at least 2500 to 3000 calories and at least 78 grams of protein per day. Eat 4-6 smaller meals instead of 3 large meals. 4-6 smaller meals is infact more than 3 large meals.

    Below is a sample meal plan.

    Breakfast:

    Oatmeal

    Cottage Cheese

    two tall glasses of water

    meal two:  

    Whole Wheat Bread Sandwich

    Salad with EFA dressing

    two tall glasses of water

    meal three pre workout

    oatmeal

    two tall glasses of water

    One hour before workout down 3 tall glasses of water.  

    Meal Four

    Salmon

    leafy green stir fry

    2 glasses of water

    Meal Five

    cup and a half of cottage cheese

    oatmeal

    Apart from nutrition you should also workout. I suggest that you build up muscle first before doing cardio.

    Resistance exercises that you should be doing (assuming you don't lift weights) - pushups, pullups, chinups, squats and janda situps. Do 4 sets of 12 reps, once these exercises get easier do harder variations such as elevated pushups and weighted pullups/chinups and weighted/squats.

    Make sure to get plenty of rest, about 8 hours of rest.

    I know this is long but it has all the information you need for you to pack on weight.

  7. brewing yeast. It has a lot of vitamin B, too. It will make you gain

    weight in a week. Either buy at pharmacies, as supplement, or in any

    place which specializes in brewing. Three pills a day/three tablespoons a day - depends on the product, and you are there. Good for bones and hair as well.


  8. No you're not unhealthy its your metabolism. my friend is the same way but shes a bit older than you. oh and it could also be your genetics too so don't worry. btw to gain weight you have to find a meal plan that fits your bodies metabolism.  

  9. yes u r unhealthy and underweight . i am 12yrs. 4'11 and is 110 pounds and on the bmi scale i am perfect weight for my age and height
