  1. Well the muscle car was his idea, and the firebird was created while he was running Pontiac, and he may have had something to do with the 1969 Trans Am, but by ''78 he was not around

  2. John De Lorean was working at pontiac at the time so he probably had some input into the design.

  3. Yes he was and other cars.

  4. John Delorean, was with Chrysler, then Packard in his early years. In 1956 went to Pontiac, in 1959, Chief Engineer of Pontiac. In the early Sixties Pontiac was on top in any form of Car Racing (421 Super Duty engine), then in 1964, First True Muscle Car, 1964 Pontiac GTO (389 cid engine). June 24, 1965, John Delorean was General Manager of Pontiac. In 1969 he went to Chevrolet, later would be in charge of G.M. Cars and Trucks. On April 19, 1973 he quit G.M.. He made his first prototype car "DeLorean", in 1976. In 1981-1982 the beginning of the DeLorean Motor Company was born around 9,000 Delorean Cars made till company went under. He was was a major influence in Pontiac 1959-1969, but I don't believe he was involved in the creation of the 1978 Pontiac Trans Am, he was building his own cars at that time.
