Am i slow?

i run 3km in 16 minutes and 2 mile in 20 minutes i am a girl and 12 years old. What things should i do to improve on my running other than running?

  1. Push yourself to the limit in every practice, and eat right, and don't drink sodas. believe me it works.


  2. thats fine - just practice and you will get better (i know it sounds cheesy)

  3. Go out and run 6 days a week (Sundays a day off, to heal) and practice hard in those sessions. Try to give all your energy to those few minutes and run as fast as you can.

    Also, while running straight out is the best, doing some sprints and other leg and lung conditioning exercises could help you.

    Don't feel bad. I was in the same posistion a not too long ago, but a few weeks of training makes a huge difference.

  5. There is no better way to improve running then running. Cross training will help a little the most drastic cutdown will be if you run. So I'd run 20 minutes a day five times a week. Your pace should be 9 minutes per mile.

  6. People always want something other than running that'll help them improve their running.. Sorry, but running more is the best answer. If anyone tells you different, they're not steering you in the right direction. Increase your mileage and your times will improve.
