Am i still entitiled to holiday pay?

i return back to work after maternity leave a week before the company breaks up for christmas holidays, i would usually be entitiled to my holiday pay as they put aside to weeks pay for christmas, will i still be entitiled to this with only going back to work a week before hand?

  1. The only person can answer that is you HR department.  This is a company policy not a law.  You may want to look at your employee manual, it may talk about it there.

    But ask them, and don't be too upset about the possible answer.  You may be entitled to all, none, or a portion.

Legally you are not ENTITLED to holiday pay, but the company can choose to give it to you.  Call and ask.  Don't go into the call with the word entitled though...perhaps,"We were just talking about our holiday plans and it got me wondering what will happen when I come back and then we close for the holidays.  I just wondered if I have to be back a cetain amount of time before those (holiday pay) benefits kick back in."

    The company will not think any less of you for asking!
