  1. everyday

  2. Yes, this was recommend from all my coaches.  Ease into it. The first week you should jumprope (not lightly but a good effort would be suffice) then rest a day and keep this up. Remeber to push yourself in every jump roping session or it will do no good. At the end of each session you should feel like your ready to die. Litterally.  Then, and only then will you know that you have improved.

Alos you should do calf raises and wall touches to improve even more. On the wall touches try to get higher and higher each time.  push youself to the limit but know when your over doing it.

  3. yes do it everyday it will also help with stamina. but try jumping up and down for 30 seconds trying to bring your knees to your chest every time! it works so well!

  4. Well, my coach and a trainer at the University of Central Florida said when you work out, the rest is what gives you stronger muscles. You do the work and it tears down your muscles and then the rest builds them back up stronger. Knowing this, I would say do it like 2 days on, one day off. I'm not sure if jumproping applies to that rest period information but I think it would because it's building muscle and if you want best results all you can do is try. If you feel like you aren't seeing the best results, do them every day and see how that goes. Like someone said above, to increase vertical though you should do lunges and calf raises, do some block jumping maybe with ankle weights, work on exploding from your legs, and on your approach. Once you're used to the jump roping add some ankle weights, 2 or 5 lbs depending on what you can handle. There are also jump ropes with weights in the handles and I guess this would put on some muscle to your arms also.

  5. yea basically anythign that will make you jump because that will only make ur legs stronger...play basketball too...not exactly a game but jump shoot...

  6. It would help.  When I used to play VBall, when I did the side to side jumps, I acted like I was jumping over a barrier, instead of like everyone else who were just doing it as fast as they could.

Repetitive jumping will help to strengthen your leg muscles and help increase your vertical.

You could also try ankle weights while jump roping.

    I hope I helped!

  7. jump rope is a great way to gain strength to jump...

also a way that i learned is to go in your garage or the park where there is a high bar or some that you can reach if you jump is a good thing to use..

stand on to feet and jump with both. hit the bar or the top of the garage with both hands and then land on both feet. repeat over and over. go for 30 seconds about 3 times. break. then go for 1 minute. and keep increasing the time over days while practicing. i am able to full on get on top of the ball when blocking and hitting now. it works...it helped me! and now im on the team!
