Am i tall enough for a sport motorcycle?

i am new to motorcycles and for my first one i am buying a gsxr 600. before i have to hear **** about how stupid i am for buying one for my first bike the gsxr has different intake settings which can tune it down to practically a 300cc so i can start out learning how to ride it good before i go really fast. i am about 5'8" and am concerned that i am a little to short. i had heard that the gsxr 600 is a little shorter then the other brands of the 600. i am wondering if this is true or is there alot of people out there that are my height that ride these bikes. any info will help.

You are definately tall enough! My wife is about 2 inches shorter than you and has no problem riding her R6!! If you do get it and you dont feel comfortable with the ride height, it's as simple as installing a lowering link to get it to your ideal height. Good luck on your new Gixxer!! Be safe.

At 5"8 you will fit on this bike perfectly. But if you think you can cut engine power in half, you are wrong. If memory serves me, you can adjust the computer, which will then change the ignition timing and fuel injector maps slightly, mostly to shift the power curve to fit your needs: more low end tourque on the backroads, and more top end horsepower for flat out top speeds. Its a very fast bike.
