well i have my c section on monday. so excited!!! 2nd girl!!!

i have noticed for like the last 2 weeks that i will randomly snort. like while taking a breath. i do have asthma and it's gotten worse with the pregnancy, in a different way though. more tightening in my chest, not so much coughing. and also i have NEVER in my life snored. and i am snoring. my husband wants to sufficate with a pillow because he's been losing so much sleep. it's pretty funny because he's like you sound like a freight train, and now he knows how i feel. pressure from the baby, or permenant damage you think? i will wake up with a sore throat from i guess having my mouth open and snoring, and not to mention wake myself up snoring. it's crazy what pregnancy does to you, i was just wondering if i am the only one??

  1. lol no sweetie! Your not the only one...:)

I wake up with the dryest tongue you could imagine...its almost a joke. I have become a massive mouth breather during pregnancy. I also have snorted a couple times but I probably did before being pregnant too. :) Congrats on getting to meet your little girl on Monday, I hopefully get to meet mine by next Friday. I am sooo excited!

    Keep us posted!

  2. Not just you.  I'm the same way.  I snore all the time....so loudly that I sometimes wake myself up.  Normally I am not a snorer.  I am 37 weeks pregnant though, so I guess it just comes with the territory.  Not only do I snore, but it's exacerbated because my nose is constantly congested and sometimes I can't breathe through it at all.....so I sleep with my mouth open and snore.

I can't wait to be not pregnant anymore.

  3. My husband just started telling me I snore now sometimes too! It has something to do with your nasal cavity becoming swollen and it causes an increse in mucus and bloody noses! Its normal, I spoke to my dr about it! It will get better!

  4. try nasal strips, it stops the snoring because it opens your nasal cavities and helps you breathe better. available at drug stores. astma causes alot of symptoms during pregnancy, if you are worried, you should ask your doctor about it. good luck =]

  5. LOL!! I was so annoyed with my first daughter because I was contantly feeling stuffed up and I would snort randomly, or blow my nose constantly to no avail! And I snored like a pig! I have never snored, don't have asthma, and have never had a nose or sinus issue in my life!

With my second daughter it was worse!

I discovered that it is because your nasal passages can swell up (just like your hands and feet can) and it causes you to snore and snort like that.

It goes away shortly after you give birth.

Good Luck!! I have two daughters myself, they are so much fun, and best friends! You're gonna love it!

Wait until you leave the hospital with baby and say for the first time "I have children...kids...more than one!" It feels so strange and wonderful.

    Good Luck!

  6. i had this with first pregnancy. i have a feeling its to do with hormones making your nasal passages swell up making it difficult to breathe and causing your nose to block (but not 100% - it was a while ago!). i stopped snoring shortly after my girl was born though

good luck for monday! how exciting!

  7. HAHA well I don't actually wake myself up snoring but before my husband went overseas with the army in April he said he wanted to kick me out of bed almost every night because I snored so loud lol. I never had b4 then either. and yes, sometimes when i breathe in I snort or make a weird noise like I'm about to fall over dead ;-) oh the joys of pregnancy haha. I'm hoping it will go away!! So you are definitely not the weirdo out there ;-) Good luck Monday and congratulations!!!

  8. I remember having a lot of trouble breathing... and I was a snorer too during my pregnacy.
