Why is everyone following ISNA ? They dont care about sighting the moon, they do everything based on their astronomical calculation.(which is a Bidah)Eid is still one month away but they already declared Eid will be on 1st Oct.

According to ICNA, New moon wasnt sighted in North America yesterday. Therefore 1st Ramadan will be on Sept 2nd.

"Khidhr Amin from Albany, NY reported: Seen

    Inshallah!

  10. I did fast on Sep. 1 but not because of ISNA (they are way wrong on this issue). There are two schools of thought with regard to moon sighting; one is it is done at local level where the moon can be sighted differently at different places (ikhtilaf matale') and the other is a global one (ittihad matale') both of theses are acceptable as they are both based on moonsighting and both have been OKed by well known scholars. The moon has been sighted in Australia, South Africa and South America (3 different continents) so going with global sighting you could fast but if your local mosque follows local sighting then this is also OK, but the whole US cannot be considered one locality as it is too vast and hence there is nothing wrong with different states having different Ramadan day as long as they are sighting the moon for each month and not just Ramadan. The basic rule that if you don't sight it on Shaban 29 then you complete it to 30 regardless of whether the moon is sighted on Shaban 30 or not.

  11. u didn't fast?................i told you about the chand

lolz...........that chacha is too old to lie

  12. For about an hour last night I was told that we were going to be fasting today..

But, the masjid changed there minds and said it would start tomorrow. =p

So no, I am not fasting either.

  13. nope, you're not the only one...my family and I didn't fast either. None of our family did either. It's tomorrow.

  14. lol, i am fasting, you know we fast because last night we prayed Tarawhee!!!!

here in New Jersey every one is fasting Except some Pakistanis!!

  15. Im not fasting yet for other reasons..        >:(

  16. I didn't fast today either. I'm glad to hear i'm not the only one. There are still some who find it important to follow the sunnah to determine ramadan. I don't like that everyone follows the saudis blindly . So insha'allah I will start tomorrow. Salamu alaikom.
