Am i the only one who gets excited about the Belt of Venus?

Question

ie, the Earth's shadow projected onto the atmosphere, western horizon in the morning, eastern horizon in the afternoon.

I absolutely love it, it blows me away every time!

I was just saying that the other day:

"And below them is a dark shadow - Earth's shadow (I find it amazing to imagine the ground I'm standing on projecting a shadow into the air - it gives me a sense of awe, a perspective of how great is our world)"

I love to watch the sky... so many things happening and people insist on looking down to their own feet...

That's a fabulous poetic name for the phenomenon. I get excited about it too, but I've just called it "the shadow of the Earth."

A coworker of mine some time ago worked as an astronomer at the observatory on Mauna Kea, and he said when the sun set you could actually see a TRIANGULAR shadow from the enormous shield volcano.

No, and i'll tell you why, there are many better cellestial bodies out there, and i'd reccomend looking around more.
