Am i the only one who thinks Gary Oldman did better than Heath Ledger in the Dark Knight?

Both did outstanding jobs but Gary Oldman was a bit more "jokerish". Where as Heath took the character to a new level, so yes you are right but the other answer are correct too...also ...although they are both Batman movies the newer ones are darker so of course the characters are darker then the originals

true, they were both amazing, but i do believe that heath did do a better job. he had to play an extremely dark and crazy character. for some actors, that would be hard to pull off, but he did and he did it with flying colors. gary oldman did a great job playing his cop character, but anyone could play that role, maybe not as well as oldman, but they could do it. i just think that the fact that ledger's performance was one that  very few could pull off, made it an even better performance.

also, if ledger was not dead right now, more people would probably think that oldman did a better job, but i think that the fact that he is dead makes his performance stand out even more.

personally i think Heath Ledger is getting all this hype and attention because his dead...... and if he wins the oscar... its because his dead and its all heartwarming.... summer movies rarely win at oscars..... but he will win nonetheless......

not only was a funny(comical), but

he was a scary, thrilling, psycho-path kinda joker.

He was, and could be, totally worthy of

an Oscar, as someone said in a magazine,

he might just be the first posthumous Oscar
