  1. You are not alone.

I do not like it in just about anything either.

  2. Mexican and Thai food aren't the same without it.

    I love it!!

  3. Probably.

  4. I hate cilantro!!!!!!!!!!

  5. I know a lot of people who hate it. They say it reminds them of dishwashing liquid-the smell.

  6. No. My boyfriend hates it.

  7. I am one of those people who love the smell and the flavour! In fact, I had it this morning on my huevos rancheros :)

But it is a love-hate thing. Everyone I know either hates it or can't get enough of it. I don't know anyone who feels ambivalent about it.

  8. i cannot handle tons of it..some people over do it when they add it to dishes.I prefer just a simple little bit ..it takes all the other flavors out of the dish when they put tons in.

  9. no reason to regret or feel guilty ,there are many people like you who cannot stand the smell of cilantro , but then there are others are who think the smell of cilantro is hard to beat, the same goes for many  other herbs ,more so when the herb is new to an inexperienced palate.

I am Indian & no self respecting Indian housewife /cook would dream of starting out  her meal preperation without a bunch or two of cilantro at hand. I confess we do not believe in just a pinch ,we go by the bunch, which can be a good handful of the rooted herb .

  10. I can't stand it either!!!

  11. You're not the only person. Tastes like soap to me. It's estimated that 40% of the population have a genetic trait for an enzyme that changes the taste of cilantro to something unpleasant-usually soap or metal.

  12. It's a love hate thing, people who hate it claim that it does taste like dish soap.  Personally, I love it but to each his own!

  13. I dont like the taste. I will eat it in salsa if there is very little in it.

  14. I'm with you!

  15. No you are not... I do not enjoy the smell of cilantro leaves either (however I do like the flavour they add to certain mexican and indian dishes, as long as there isn't too much).
