Am i the only person working in customer service that is sick of it?

i get personally insulted, screamed at for doing my job, screamed at if someone else messes up and i have to just sit there and bit my tongue. management is never around. is anyone else like this too? have you ever snapped at a rude customer?

No, you're not the only one.  Unfortunately, that's the way it is with customer service jobs.  Whenever I was having a truly crummy day with customers, I would just try to remember the really great customers that made me happy.  If you work in a place where you start getting "regulars" (like the supermarket), make it a goal to break down the hard-to-reach customers.  That's what I did.  In the end, it made me happy to be able to bring a smile to the face of someone who wasn't used to smiling.  In brief, kill 'em with kindness and leave work at work when you go home.  It's not worth it.
