Question:

Am i to unfit to start gymnastics?

im 14 and i want to start gymnastics but i am so unfit and im chubby, i have 3 weeks until i have planned to start, but is this to early? do if have to get fit and lose weight before i start? i just dont want to be the only fat unfit one there who's starting.

  2. your not to unfit to start because they will take anyone to begin gymnastics, but it would help if you begin goin to the gym on a regular basis before you start gymnastics if your aim is to get fit,

    if you are unable to go to the gym there are many things you can use around the house  to get fit without spending a lot of money, like going for a jog every day and slowly making it longer, doing regular sit ups increasing them everyday

    all the above will help you lose weight and enjoy the gymnastics more

  3. Everybody who is big built is not necessary unfit. My friend is 5'6 and is solid muscle, she has been into Judo for years and was pretty high up. About 8 yrs ago she decided to take up Pilates and because she is is competitive, with-in a year she was qualified to teach. Whenever she starts a new class, you hear some students say, god she is unfit and overweight. Sometimes after the first lesson, she speaks to the class telling them you cannot tell the fitness of a person just by looking, and just because you’re not a size 8/10/12 does not mean your unfit. She tells them she is a size 16 on a good day, and then takes her t-shirt off to show a perfectly toned body, taught muscle and no fat. A good coach will assess you and give you the correct exercises. Good Luck and enjoy it.
