Am i too old to start ballet?

Question

i would really like to start ballet. but i'm kind of intimidated because many dancers start when they are very young. i did ballet when i was in 1st grade for about a year. am i too old?

it is never too late.  my sister started at age 16 and is now 20 and has a degree in dance. I started late too at 13.

i did ballet when i was 6 for a few months and then quit (so around the same age you were). i'm 15 now and just got back into it. i'm really glad i did. it's a lot of fun. it is hard, i'm not gonna lie but i think a part of that also comes from the fact that i started in a class with kids that have done ballet for years. i'd recomend that you start in a beginner class if you have that option. i didn't because the classes at my studio are done by age instead of ability but i'm gonna switch into a class with younger kids at the end of the summer. so yeah, avoid the trouble and just start out in a beginner class even if it means being with little kids.

You're never to old to start! Getting the nerve up to go might be dough, but once you are out there dancing you'll love it, trust me! If it's what you want to do then nothing should stop you!

no no no! your definantly not too old. honestly yeah you will probably feel really intimidated at first but after a year or so it will click. and if you have a passion for it and really work at it you will get a lot better. and you probably wouldnt be put in a class with people that have danced since they were young anyways

there is no age limit for ballet., I used to go to ballet class when i was in the Philippines and there was a 43 year old woman who used to start a ballet lesson., and it really helped her in flexibility,   attentiveness and so much more., ^^

We don't know how old you are, but if you want to do ballet, then you must. You are NEVER too old!!

Your never too old, and if you want to start ballet, but you don't want to be with all of the grade ones, I know my studio offers classes for older people who are just starting dance. Check if a studio near you offers that!
