  1. I am assuming you are a boy.

I teach teenagers and I have to say most boys seem to shoot up between 16 and 18,

They come to me (at college) little squirts and then go away for a 2-week holiday and come back towering over me, it seems hehe.

If you are unsure, go see your Dr, if he is concerned it may be a hormonal problem which can easily be rectified.

How tall are your parents and grandparents?  This will impact on your overall height. You are unlikely to be 7 feet tall if your dad and grandad is 5 foot 2"

Really though, if the Dr thinks it is Ok, just wait until you are 18 to see the final result.

If it makes you feel any better, my daughter is a face model for a make up company, is only 5 foot 1" and is always complaining boys are too tall for her.

    Good luck

  2. Different people stop growing at different times, but I remember all of my class coming back to school taller for the 11th grade than we left in the 10th, so there's hope!  Are your parents short or tall? or one of each?  Girls usually reach their full height sometime in high school, but boys may keep growing taller into their early 20's....(or may not!)

  3. There are adults out there who are 4'7"--I don't think of them as "too short". Are they short? Yes. So what? Danny Devito (don't know if you know who he is--an actor) is just under 5' tall. Plenty of female gymnasts are short. It's not a big deal.

Also most girls don't have their growth spurt until gr. 7. There are more and more girls starting to grow in gr. 5/6, but gr. 7 is still pretty typical. Boys typically have their growth spurts in gr. 8/9. And you can still grow until you are about 21. I grew to 5'2" in gr. 7, stayed there for the next 5 years, then grew almost 2 inches. I was probably about your height (which isn't far off the norm for either boys or girls at that age) when I went into gr. 6. I was always the 2nd shortest in the class. I didn't let it get to me. It's not a big deal. It doesn't mean you're less important, less worthy or anything.

  4. That may be a tad small for your age. However, its not neccessarily too short at all. I hadn't started my large growth spurt until almost 11th grade going into 12. I was short all up until then. So don't worry about you height, you'll grow just as everyone else does. Just look at your parents and siblings. Are they regular height? If so, you'll be just fine and even if they're not, use me as an example, I had always been the shortest in the family and now I'm the tallest.
